Mosswood Tiny Retreat
A compact tiny home nestled in a forest setting, optimized for off-grid living and minimal environmental impact.

Project Overview
Mosswood Tiny Retreat was designed as a quiet getaway located in a forested area near Mount Hood, Oregon. The project was created for clients seeking a low-impact retreat — a place to disconnect from daily routines and reconnect with nature while maintaining comfort and functionality.
Built using Modu's Tiny Home system, the retreat focuses on efficiency, durability, and thoughtful spatial planning. Despite its compact size, the home offers defined zones for living, resting, and daily activities.
Large windows bring in soft, filtered daylight and frame views of surrounding trees, allowing the interior to feel calm and open while remaining sheltered and private.
Design Approach
The design approach prioritized simplicity and environmental sensitivity. The layout minimizes wasted space and emphasizes built-in storage to keep the interior uncluttered and functional.
Materials were selected for durability and low maintenance, suitable for a damp, wooded climate. The color palette and finishes were intentionally restrained, helping the home blend naturally into its surroundings.
The retreat was constructed in a factory-controlled environment to ensure precision and quality, then delivered and installed on site with minimal disruption to the forest floor.
