Project Overview

Driftway Studio Pod was designed as a dedicated creative workspace near Point Reyes, California. The project was created for clients who needed a quiet, focused environment separate from their main residence — a place to work, think, and create without distraction.

Using Modu’s modular construction system, the studio pod delivers a compact yet comfortable space that feels open and intentional. Large windows frame views of the surrounding landscape, bringing in natural light and reinforcing a calm, inspiring atmosphere throughout the day.

Despite its small footprint, the pod provides everything needed for daily creative work while maintaining a strong and meaningful connection to its coastal environment.

Design Approach

The design approach emphasized clarity, flexibility, and minimalism. The interior layout is open and adaptable, allowing the space to function as a studio, home office, or quiet retreat depending on use.

Built-in storage keeps the interior organized and completely free from visual clutter, while durable, low-maintenance materials were carefully selected to perform well in coastal conditions. The restrained material palette supports both focus and longevity.

The studio pod was constructed in a controlled factory environment to ensure precision and consistent quality. On-site installation was completed quickly and with minimal impact on the surrounding landscape.
